THE REALITY

Did you know that two-thirds of Yemen’s population has no access to clean drinking water? Being one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, the ongoing conflict has resulted in an enormous need for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Yemen’s rapidly growing population, coupled with the destruction of public health services and WASH infrastructure, has made way for the outbreak of water-borne diseases such as Cholera and Diptheria. 

We are working hard to scale our response to water, sanitation, and hygiene by providing emergency hygiene kits, accessible drinking water, and installing water wells.

WATER WELLS

Thanks to your generous support, the Pure Hands team has been working diligently to drill and rehabilitate water wells, construct water networks, and set up water tanks. This has worked to provide great access to clean drinking water for the severely underprivileged. Attentively, we make efforts to alleviate the suffering of dehydration by making clean and safe water that much more accessible every single day. Known to be one of Pure Hand’s largest projects, we have made way across 8 governorates in Yemen and have touched the lives of over 90,000 beneficiaries in 2020 alone.

Human life depends on water, but with two-thirds of the population having no access to drinking water, the lives of millions are prone to diseases and dehydration.
