The children of Yemen are in a state of emergency. Half of all Yemeni children under the age of five are acutely malnourished. According to UN agencies, the number of Yemeni children in danger of death from lack of food has increased in 2024 to 500,000. This startling number is only getting worse. Pure Hands is working tirelessly to provide emergency food assistance through food baskets, fresh bread, and building charitable bakeries across the country.
We focus a majority of our operations on the distribution of nutritious food baskets to bring immediate relief to Yemenis suffering from fatally acute malnutrition. These food baskets include a combination of powerful vitamins and minerals to help directly treat a malnourished body.
In Islam, bread is not considered as just a basic food, but a highly respected source of nutrition and blessings too. Our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentions that “The best of your foods is bread” due to its sheer ability to take care of a man’s body. To families who don’t know where their next meal will come from, we’ve made it our mission to make fresh bread accessible to them. The bread we supply is whole wheat which contains calcium, magnesium, phosphate, and vitamin B12.
